Bridget Thorpe, BS, MS

Bridget Thorpe, BS, MS

Bridget obtained her BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western University in May of 2019. She subsequently joined GW for her MS degree where she completed MS thesis research work titled “Exploring the Use of Ultrasound Therapy for Improved Metabolic Hormone Release from Thyroid Gland” in December of 2022. She is currently a PhD student working on utilization of ultrasound in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Alexis (Lexi) Carmine

Alexis (Lexi) Carmine

Lexi Carmine is a senior at the university majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Her involvement in the lab includes work on modulating melatonin with therapeutic ultrasound. She also works for the advising office at SEAS, LA's for the Junior Capstone course, and volunteers as an EMT during her free time. She hopes to matriculate into an MD program in the future and will be completing a Postbaccalaureate at the NIH during her gap year.

Brian Kardan

Brian is currently a senior and an incoming MS student in our BME department. His research focused on utilization of therapeutic ultrasound for modulation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in kidneys.

Roan Riordan

Roan Riordan

I am a sophomore biomedical engineering student with a potential minor in electrical engineering from Monroe, CT. I joined the lab to work on the use of ultrasound to stimulate melatonin release from the pineal gland. Outside of class, I enjoy playing frisbee and working with Engineers Without Borders.
